We are currently unpacking our large collection of art into our lovely new space. It will need a fresh lick of paint and a few extra walls, but we can’t wait to get on with our first “hang” of our artists work and for the opening party event! In the meantime if you wish to pop in to see any work before we officially open we would be more than happy to see you, just give us a bell to book an appointment and we will get the coffee on…
Over the summer James and Rachael will be heading to the beautiful north Norfolk coast, seeking both rest and artistic inspiration, Helen will be checking out the high life and galleries of Paris and Libby will be on the Greek islands. We will endeavour to share our favourite sights on instagram (@capitalculturegallery) and hoping some of our artists will do the same!
So just in case you haven’t met all the team here’s a little introduction…
Director/Photographer
James Sparshatt set up the gallery in 2005. James’ background includes working as a photographer and newspaper editor in South America for a number of years before returning to study Fine Art Photography at London College of Printing. His passion for photography and culture is at the root of the development of the gallery. James organizes our international art fairs.
Director/Painter
Rachael Dalzell is in charge of artistic direction and exhibitions at the gallery. She joined Capital Culture in 2006 after graduating from Wimbledon School of Art and quickly became a driving force. Her large scale paintings adorn numerous corporate and private collections across the world. Rachael also helps at our UK art fairs.
Gallery Design Consultant
Libby Bothway is a brilliant illustrator by trade, she splits her time between her own freelance design work and running the graphics department at the gallery. She loves Prosecco and being surrounded by beautiful things to inspire her!
Gallery Manager
Helen Beckett uses her background in PR and marketing to promote our artists, exhibitions and events. Her love of art and interior design makes her a great resource for our clients when they choose work for their homes or offices. An approachable demeanour and love of Norfolk means that there is always a friendly face to welcome visitors to the gallery.
Photography Consultant
Barry Cawston is an award winning photographer from the south west of England. As well as being one of our artists he works with us at our international art fairs.
